Kanye West in Paris, changes his name!

6:43 AM Reporter: LavishLivez.com 0 Responses

Kanye, the Louis Vuitton Don, felt like he had to change his name once the red version of K.W x L.V hit the runway. Once known as the "Don", is now self proclaimed "Martin Louis The King.......JR" and please address him as such. In the video above, you get to see the really cocky, but confident, dramatic and yet sarcastic side of Mr. West.

Check the video out to see for yourself!
He will be waiting for you in the building, swagger on a 100 thousand trillion.

*look at those in the back just chillen, the sneakers I mean.*

Kanye West for Louis Vuitton Sneaker

3:10 AM Reporter: LavishLivez.com 0 Responses

Kanye West and Louis Vuitton have been working together on these bad boys for awhile now and we finally get to see an official picture. We've seen Kanye with the white pair on in a Youtube video, but now there are 3 more color-ways. Coming in tan, red, black and white, it would be a hard decision to choose just one.

There are many cool features on this sneaker such as the L.V logo on the toe, monogram on the sole, but the most unique feature on this sneaker, if not the history of sneakers, is the quilted flap on the back of the shoe. The flap is designed so that the jeans you rock with the sneakers don't drag.... how kind of Kanye.

Check out the press release below:

PARIS — Marc Jacobs and the Louis Vuitton men’s studio director Paul Helbers have some design competition this season. Kanye West, who was sitting front row at the Vuitton show, has designed a line of five LV sneakers. Only one design, above, was featured in the show — a monochromatic midtop with no frills, save for a quilted flap in the back, all the easier to tuck pants into. “The inspiration came from a jacket with a huge collar in the movie ‘Dune,’ ” West says. “Most sneakers focus on the tongue, so I wanted to do something different.” West knows whereof he speaks: he says he has no idea how many shoes he owns, but he does know that he routinely needs to send shipments off to storage. The LV-meets-Kanye kicks will be available at Louis Vuitton stores in June.

Louis Vuitton Graffiti Sneaker Boot

4:51 AM Reporter: LavishLivez.com 0 Responses

As a tribute to New York artist Stephen Sprouse, who collaborated with Marc Jacobs on Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2001 show, this dope Graffiti Sneaker Boot in Monogram Canvas and Leather Patchwork inspired by the 1980s streetwear is hot, really really hot!

This sneaker is made from a patchwork of leather and Monogram Graffiti canvas that reads graffiti LOUIS VUITTON PARIS on its exposed areas. It also features velcro straps in metallic calf leather that acts as the shoe's fastening, a black Louis Vuitton rubber label at the tongue, a removable anatomic insock, and a glowing green rubber sole embossed with the Louis Vuitton signature in Graffiti. I could imagine Louis Vuitton Don Kanye West wearing a pair of these, I bet it looks killah!

Graffiti Sneaker Boot comes in three colors: Fuchsia, Green, and Orange. Available at Louis Vuitton for $980.

Skate Free: Louis Vuitton to Celebrate Sprouse Collection

11:30 PM Reporter: LavishLivez.com 0 Responses

NEW YORK — Like the artist and designer who inspired the new collection, Louis Vuitton is heading downtown for its new Stephen Sprouse collection.

This week, the company’s boutique on SoHo’s Greene Street will be transformed into a Sprouse destination in time for the collection’s arrival.

“SoHo is a special place for the entire launch of the Sprouse collection,” said Daniel Lalonde, Louis Vuitton North America president and chief executive officer. “It’s in the proximity of where Stephen Sprouse hung out, so we are going to give the entire store a Stephen Sprouse feel. It will have a lot of reminders of Stephen Sprouse. We will be giving it a new identity.”

For instance, the company is wrapping the store in vinyl and spray painting neon graffiti all over the facade. The window display will feature a 6-foot neon light installation in Sprouse’s Rose motif. The store’s interior, enhanced with black brick wall facing, will also be sprayed with the neon graffiti.

The collection will launch in its entirety at the SoHo boutique on Thursday. The complete worldwide launch will follow on Feb. 2, though the Rose pieces will be available at Louis Vuitton stores worldwide starting Friday.

For the launch, the luxury goods company is also creating two limited edition pieces, which will only be available at the SoHo location: a Stephen Sprouse graffiti skateboard replete with a hard case monogram skateboard trunk, and a Stephen Sprouse “Roses” T-shirt. The company hopes to sell three graffiti skateboards with trunks for $8,250 each, and 70 T-shirts for $250 each. “I don’t expect them to last very long,” Lalonde said. “By Friday, there probably won’t be any more left.”

Proceeds will benefit Free Arts NYC, which provides underserved children throughout New York City with special arts programs. Vuitton is also making an undisclosed donation to the Sprouse Estate, as well as the Stephen Sprouse Memorial Scholarship Fund at the National Academy for Design here.

Sprouse became known in the Eighties for his graffiti art and fashion designs. In 2001, Vuitton artistic director Marc Jacobs collaborated with Sprouse and created an instant must-have accessories collection with the Monogram Graffiti collection. Sprouse died in 2004, and Vuitton made its first donation to the fund in 2006 when Jacobs created a scarf in Sprouse’s honor, using one of the collaboration’s leopard prints.

Vuitton will honor the late artist with three events this Thursday. The night will kick off with cocktails at the Vuitton boutique on Greene Street, with a simultaneous event at nearby Deitch Projects’ Wooster Street Gallery for the opening of the “Rock on Mars” Sprouse retrospective. Afterwards, Vuitton and Jacobs will host a bash at the Bowery Ballroom, featuring a performance by Sprouse’s friend Debbie Harry, followed by DJ Jus Ske. The venue is expected to have a Sprouse feel, with a special graffiti-and-neon decor.

“It’s something new from Vuitton to start the year off,” Lalonde said of the collection. “The product, design, and expression are uplifting and rejuvenating. That’s the feel we try to provide for the evening and for the collection.”

Honoring the late, great Stephen Sprouse and his upcoming tribute collection designed by Louis Vuitton creative director Marc Jacobs, the Louis Vuitton store in SoHo has plastered a gargantuan print across their storefront. The display can surely be attributed to the mass influence graffiti holds in the world of fashion. On a side note, Deitch Projects will be holding a show in collaboration with Louis Vuitton, premiering this Friday January 9th, 2009 in celebration of the Stephen Sprouse collection.
